Who is your Valentine?
I will keep his name a secret, but he is a Ugandan on kyeyo.

So, is yours going to be a lonely Valentine’s Day?
I don’t mind. In fact, to me Valentine’s Day is just like any other day. I will stay at home all day, watching comedies and cartoons. And I will switch off all my phones. I don’t want my friends to disturb me or invite me to hang out. I don’t want to see lovers. It may make me miss him a lot.

What is your most memorable Valentines?
It was in 2003 when I was in S.2. My high school boyfriend bought me shoes, a good flower and a card. It was my first time ever to receive a Valentine gift. However, fellow students stole my flower.

What do you hate about Valentine’s Day?
Many couples break-up over small mistakes made on that day. For instance, not picking a phone call or failure to turn up for a date can cause relationship problems. Partners take it as a sign of having another affair, yet sometimes it may not be true.

How do you handle a long distance relationship?
Communication makes me feel like we are together in Kampala.

How did you meet him?
We used to meet in church during prayers. We became friends and he started reserving me a seat so that we could seat together during service. I got closer and saw many good qualities in him. So, when he raised the love issue, I did not hesitate.

What are you waiting for to legalise your relationship?
I have always feared marriage, but I think we shall introduce by 2012.

What if you found he has someone else?
I would ask him to choose either me or her. I cannot share a man.

Would you tell him if his best friend made a pass at you?
I would first tell that friend to stop. If he insists, I would inform my boyfriend.
