FINANCE minister Syda Bumba has said she cannot work with UPC’s Olara Otunnu.

She said she agreed to work with President Museveni because he was visionary and cared for the people.

“If it had been Olara Otunnu in power and he offered me a ministerial post, I wouldn’t have taken it,” she said.

“Museveni is good to work with because he loves and cares for the people,” said Bumba on Friday in Nakaseke.

Bumba, who is the NRM candidate in the three-man MP race for Nakaseke North, made the remarks during a campaign rally at Katooke trading centre in Wakyato sub-county.

Enumerating NRM achievements since 1986, Bumba said Museveni had among other things brought stability, eliminated the six killer diseases, built social infrastructure and instituted free primary and secondary school education.
She said the NRM had brought on board women, the youth and people with disabilities in the fight against poverty.

In addition to the sh2.9b, the Bulyamushenyu Bridge and the Semuto-Matugga road that are currently under construction, the Government would also construct another bridge across River Mayanja, and tarmac Luweero-Butalangu-Kafu road, she disclosed.

She said Nakaseke would also get a sh500m polytechnic and a modern abattoir at Butalangu and an excavator for the district.
