Hey, there pretty lady, what’s with the pensive mood?
(Thinks hard, stroking her hair gently) ………I don’t even know exactly what is on my mind.

You are scaring me now. You cannot be that bleak, can you?
Of course not. It is just that I usually run short of words when I am so overwhelmed.

What exactly is overwhelming you? Is it my pretty boy swag or Benon?
(Smiles)……… Ok, let us just say it is a little bit of both.
Oh, that feels better. But why do you not look at ease?
Actually, I am fine. It’s just that I cannot believe what you have done for me. I know I am boring you.
Don’t say that. I am totally enjoying you.
Oh, you are? Thanks.
‘Awesome’ (I think to myself) Tell us about Benon.

He is such an adorable guy. You know, the moment I came through the gate like this, he smiled all the way until he gave me such a warm hug.

Hmmmm! How warm?
Very warm. Then he made me comfortable on a sofa and talked to me gently as if we knew each other from another world. He took me to his car and showed me some of his stuff.

You see, it was as if he was talking to his long lost kid sister. From there, he led me to his studio where he makes all the magical sounds.

I actually thought the studio was like a huge hall with all sorts of complicated equipment, but to my surprise, it looked very modest. He told me his studio has some of the best quality (portable) equipment in East Africa.
(At this point her eyes had such a glow)…..

Seems like you had some nice fun. What was that moment you didn’t want to fade?
Man, when he took some time to tune his guitar so he could play me some of his latest songs. It took some time to get the guitar in tune, but he was so patient and insisted that he had to play me something.

Finally, he played me my favourite of his songs — Hope. I was surprised he is such a good guitarist as well. He sang along with me and it felt so good. Then he gave me an autographed album he released a while ago called Olunaku Olupya. He also gave me three portrait posters. I cannot wait to hang them in my bedroom.

What does that tell you about Benon?
It tells me a lot of things. For starters, he is an appreciative and caring guy. He is the perfect guy any girl would have. He is the kind that will settle a jumpy chick no matter how crazy she is. He is such a good listener.

So you love him?
I adore him.
