EDITOR: Some people, especially in political circles, are trying to create an environment of hatred among Ugandans towards the Asian Community. They argue that a person like Singh Katongole should not be allowed to represent the people of Rubaga North in Parliament! This is absurd.

Katongole was born and brought up in Uganda and he is a Ugandan. Besides, he has heavily invested in the country. He has as much right to stand for MP as any other Ugandan. The hate drive started must stop.
We have come a long way and I strongly believe that some Asians like Karmali (Mukwano) and the Madhavanis are more Ugandan than the so-called indigenous ones. This is because they give a livelihood to hundreds of their countrymen. Jako David Waluluka walulukadavid@yahoo.co.uk
EDITOR: It is good Katongole Singh has won the Naguru North seat. Some people thought he would not win just because he is not a black Ugandan.
