A Ugandans should desist from under-declaring taxes because the practice affects the country’s prosperity.
Dr. Simon Kagugube, the president of the East African School of Tax, said although Ugandans worry about paying taxes, it was the final consumer who pays it.
“The role of the taxpayer is to collect it on behalf of the tax authority,†he said.
This during the graduation ceremony of students who completed an eight-month postgraduate diploma course in tax and revenue administration at Hotel African Kampala on Friday.
Over 100 students completed course.
