LAST Saturday, Talent Africa put on a spectacular event called the Silent Disco at the Garden City Rooftop Atrium. Everybody was given a pair of wireless headphones upon entry.

Through their headphones they were able to tune in to two separate frequencies each playing different genres of music. On Channel A, DJ Can and DJ A2 played dance, house and electronic music; while on Channel B DJ Aludah and DJ BK played hip-hop, R&B and dancehall music.

When headphones were taken off, you could only hear the sounds of people laughing, enjoying and singing along to their favourite songs.

The mix of having four DJ’s, with two playing live at the same time, is something Kampala city has never heard before. The venue was perfect for the event.

The fully stocked bar was dishing out drinks all night long. Guests had the choice of dancing under the sparkling disco ball and moving lights or taking a couple of steps outside to dance under the star-lit sky.

By half past midnight, all the headphones were sold out and several hopefuls were turned away as there were only a set number of headphones available.

The party was well attended by Kampala’s top socialites and celebrities that turned up to find out what the Silent Disco was actually about.

Among these were Jose Chameleone, Navio, Cleopatra Koheirwe, HB Toxic, Michael Ross, Bushbaby, Krystal and Seanice. Talent Africa will host another Silent Disco in three months time.
