COMMONWEALTH double gold medallist Moses Kipsiro will be gunning for a share of the sh640m prize money at stake at the World Cross Country championships due Sunday in Punta Umbria, Spain.
On Wednesday, Kipsiro led the first batch of a team of 18 athletes, who have been training in the high altitude camp in Kapchorwa, to Spain for the world event. The other athletes followed yesterday.
World athletics governing body IAAF announced the prize money for both team and individual winners in the senior men and women category yesterday.
The top performers among the juniors are awarded medals as IAAF rules do not permit cash awards to ‘minors’.
