Sniff out the ovulating girl

I think I have a loud mouth – rather a loud pen – because those who know me swear I am humbler than my pen. (And I mean the pen that writes not the one that sows). What business did I have last week bragging about my ability to sniff out ovulating women?

Anyway, after delivering to you the aspirins on how to use a defection strategy to win a lover last week, many of you zeroed on the mother-of-all matters arising. Many wrote back asking: Where did your wife go? I think I know why sin persists in spite of the number of fiery preachers today.

Many more demanded to know how to sniff out an ovulating woman from a crowd. I will address the latter.

In my whole life, I have never received any request from any animal about how to identify ovulation! Animals know which mate is ready for sex and which male has stronger genes, sometimes from as far as 10km. It is as easy as voting The Movement. But humans need Dr. Love to tell them.

OK, get your pens and paper ready: Unfortunately, we are not many people who can smell a fertile woman. But do not despair. There are indicators you can use to tell which Gadaffi is ready for bombing. Unfortunately many of you depend on gadgets instead of instinct that our raw ancestors used to emit, receive and process information. Our body facilities that processed these chemicals have now been stunted due to un-use, use of perfumes, pollution, genetic suffocation and ‘civilisation’.

The natural instinct of man was made to identify fertile women but most of this is done at a subconscious level and promptly ignored. A study published last year in the journal Psychological Science tested men’s testosterone levels after sniffing T-shirts of women who were ovulating and those who were not. They found that the testosterone levels were higher after smelling T-shirts of ovulating women. Another study, published in 2007 in the journal Evolution and Human Behaviour, found that kimansulo dancers got more tips when they were ovulating than when they were not.

Ovulation, by the way, is when the egg is released from the ovary to wait for the male sperm to arrive and fertilise it. It occurs about 14 days after the beginning of the menstrual period and lasts for two to three days.

Most women can tell the time from the changes in the form of their vaginal secretion and its increase in volume. Their basal body temperatures, breast tenderness also increase and, in some women, lower abdominal pains come. Like in other female animals, their sexual desire increases as nature’s way of demanding action.

But if you are a man, how can you know?

Look at your female neighbour at office, or your wife at home or even classmate. You will notice that the way she walks, talks and dresses changes during that time. She suddenly looks brighter, sexier and generally more beautiful and attractive, probably after staying longer than usual in the mirror. She walks swaying her hips more while holding her upper body breast-forward. She is more receptive, can initiate a flirt, is more sociable, can even hold your hand during a discussion of Libya bombardment, laughs more at your jokes and is more interested in going out. Her voice is sweeter, her facial muscles more symmetrical and the smile has that potent effect.

Another study by Durante and colleagues, published recently in the Journal of Consumer Research, revealed that women chose slightly sexier and more revealing clothes, shoes and accessories during ovulation. She is more likely to dress to impress; more flamboyantly with more skin exposed and lots of jewellery. The girl, who usually loves pants, suddenly shows up in a short skirt.

And if a woman has a man she perceives as better looking (more masculine) than her husband, she will develop an unexplainable disgust for her husband during that time and a most extreme spike in interest for the other guy because her hormones will be propelling her to go for the best possible mate. Women are, therefore, more likely to cheat on their partners while ovulating.

If you have a girlfriend or wife, do it as a game: Study her for a couple of months till you can identify the right fertility days. It is not difficult; you are guaranteed a success bigger than the Movement victory.
