I have missed my period for 3 months

Is it a problem when one takes a long time, for instance three months, or more without getting her period? Is this caused by infertility or something else? I am worried.

Missing a period for three consecutive months is on the upper side. Irregular periods may be a sign of abnormal levels of some hormones related to reproduction in the body.
It may also result from abnormalities in the ovary or uterus (womb). Other causes may be poor nutrition, stress, and severe diseases. See a gynaecologist. It will also be better for both you and your spouse to be reviewed by a doctor, who may recommend some tests to be done.
