EAGER to showcase tips imparted in them by Canadian professional Mitchell Cooke a bumper entry of 60 riders will compete in the second National Motocross Championship at Garuga on Sunday.

Arthur Blick, who is a member of the organising committee, noted that the number of riders had increased in all the categories.

“I am not surprised by the great interest in this race. It showed right from the training session we had with Mitchell at Garuga. Everybody desires to exhibit their skill and that will certainly be entertaining,” Blick stated.

The riders will compete in 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, MX2 and MX1 which features that cream of Ugandan competitors.

With Cooke a class above the rest, he will simply entertain spectators as a guest rider, leaving the battle for the MX1 accolade to Blick, Assaf Natan and Maxim Van Pee among others.

It will be the first time a race is held at Garuga this season having switched from Uganda Motorsports Arena at Busiika in Luwero. It is to enable Ugandan riders get familiar with the track ahead of the East African Challenge next month.
