EDITOR: Fort Portal is undebatebly the cleanest town in Uganda. I think this is because of the dedication of its mayor Asaba Ruyonga. He and his team deserve a pat on the back.

However, there is a common and irritating behaviour in the town that should urgently be addressed. Motorists and boda boda cyclists routinely drive or ride on the right, especially from Ruhandiika and Magambo streets. Instead of turning left and driving up when they join Bundibugyo Road, they to turn right because the distance is shorter! This is dangerous and twice I nearly knocked dead a boda boda man. Another time I almost had a head-on collision with a car. Are there no traffic Police in Fort Portal? Those who want to drive on the right should go to neighbouring Rwanda or DRC. This behaviour waters down the beauty and cleanliness of Fort Portal!
