INSURANCE side NIC and St. Mary’s Kitende retained their national netball rally titles in the clubs and secondary schools categories respectively over the weekend at the Kasaana ground in Mubende.

Flavia Nakanwagi, Harriet Layet and Racheal Nanyonga were the toast for NIC as they led their side to their seventh title in a row.

The two-day rally saw the insurers win all their five games. They beat UPDF 11-10 in their opening encounter as they went on to rout home side CBS Fans’ Club 27-0.

They beat Police, Nile Star and finally humiliated KCC 17-7 to retain the crown with an overall 10 points.

Army side, UPDF finished second with eight points and Police come third.

But Kitende had to grit their teeth before overcoming fierce rivals Buddo SS 24-21.

Mubende NTC won the institutions’ crown as Nakirebe took the primary schools title.
