FORUM for Democratic Change (FDC) president, Kizza Besigye, has been arraigned in Court and charged with two counts of inciting violence and rioting after proclamation.

Besigye appeared before Kansangati grade one magistrate, James Elenyu.
He was granted non cash bail of Sh10m and ordered to reappear in court on May 18, 2011.

Although prosecution was objected to granting Besigye bail, magistrate Elenyu, ruled that it’s a constitutional right for a suspect to be released on bail.

He was on Monday morning detained at Kasangati Police station for several hours following his arrest for attempting for the third time to walk to work in protest of high fuel and commodities prices.

Some opposition members who defied Police orders not go on with walk-to-walk demonstration in different parts of the city were arrested.
