UGANDA this Easter. Bebe Cool’s East African carnival concert will take place at Resort Beach, Entebbe on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. It will feature local and international artistes like Jamaica’s RDX and, Kenya’s Nameless. Entry fee is sh10,000/25,000.

The East African Carnival show will also take place at Kiwaatule Recreational Centre on Easter Monday. Ever since the Jamaican duo, RDX hit the music scene in 2007 with the single Dance, they have been going from strength to strength and have fast become one of the most recognizable faces in dance hall music at the moment.

The duo made up of Carlton Williams who goes by the stage name Renegade X and is also a dee jay was a childhood friend to the other half of the duo Andrea Bedward whose stage name is Delomar X and together they merged their musical interests to form dance hall music’s duo of the moment RDX.

The duo boasts other songs like Deliver Me, The Swagger Song, Skip has won a number of awards in their homeland Jamaica that include the group of the year awards for 2007 and 2008.

With their latest hit Bend Over whose controversial meaning and crazy dance strokes we can not have enough of, the duo has crossed over from being big stars in Jamaica to global recognition and acclaim.

Massive airplay on local radio, television and in discotheques has seen the duo’s Bend Over song become equally popular in Uganda and they will be in Kampala come this weekend with two shows the first one being at Resort Beach Entebbe on Easter Sunday for sh10,000 and their last show on Easter Monday at the Kiwatule recreation centre for sh5,000 only.

Wonder world’s Easter weekend concerts
Artistes Nameless, Cocofinger, Rabadaba, GNL, Jose Chameleone, Maisha Dancers, Sizzaman, Michael Ross and Sophia Nantongo will stage a show at the Wonder World Amusement Park in Kansanga, tonight. Gates will be open at 1:00pm. There will also be family parties with music, dance and drama on Easter Sunday and Monday. Entry is sh10,000.

Eagles Production artistes have a musical show at KK Beach, Ggaba tonight.

Afrigo Band
will perform at Ivory Hotel, Nansana on Easter Sunday, starting at 7:00pm. Entry is sh15,000.

Monalisa’s Easter Special concert
Artistes Ragga Dee, Sizzaman, Desire Luzinda and Cathy Kusaasira will stage a show at Monalisa Club in Mengo on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. Entry is sh5,000.

Easter Cheza concert
will take place at Ggaba Beach on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. It will feature all the top local artistes. Entry is sh5,000.

Lord Fred Ssebatta has a musical show at Marvin Hotel Gardens in Nateete on Easter Sunday. Entry is sh6,000.

Omudigido concert
will take place at Nateete Shopping Centre on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. It will feature artistes like Aziz Azion, Sofia Nantongo, Dr. Hilderman and, Chris Evans. Entry is sh5,000.

Tondeka e Kavumba Easter concert
Singers Bobi Wine, Eddy Kenzo and Eagles Production will stage a concert at Kavumba Recreational Center in Wakiso on Easter Sunday. There will also be a motor-sprint and several other interesting activities. Entry is sh5,000.

Eagles at Comprehensive
Eagles Production artistes have a musical concert at Comprehensive Hotel, Nateete on Easter Monday. Entry fee is sh10,000.

Ambiance Discotheque Easter do is in Masaka over the Easter weekend. Gates will be open at 3:00pm.

Colline Hotel’s Easter programme
Colline Hotel, Mukono has organized an Easter bash for children at Colline Gardens tomorrow starting at 10:00am. There will also be a musical concert at on Easter Sunday, starting at 7:00pm. The show will feature artistes like Bobie Wine, Bella and, Cocofinger. Entry fee is sh5,000/3,000.

Local artistes like Phina Mugerwa Masannyalaze will stage a show at Bukenya Foundation Hall, Luweero on Easter Monday, starting at 7:00pm. Entry is sh5,000.

Motor-sprint at Nateete
There will be a motor-sprint at Nateete Sports ground on Easter Monday, starting at 10:00am. Entry is sh3,000.

Easter musical fete at Nabugabo
Concerts featuring top artistes like Jose Chameleone will take place at Sand Beach, Nabugabo in Masaka on Easter Sunday and Monday respectively. Gates open at 3:00pm. Entry is sh5,000.

Sophia Nantongo, Martin Angume and Slyvia Namugenyi have a concert at Satellite Beach, Mukono on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. They will also perform at African Paradise in Lugazi on Easter Monday. Entry is sh5,000.

Maria Flo Gradens, Masaka
There will be special entertainment activities over the Easter weekend.

New Highway Hotel, Mityana. There will be special performances by local artistes over the Easter event. Gates will be open at 12:00 noon.

Kenneth “Pablo” Kimuli will hold a Comedy Extravaganza show at the Waterfront Club in Entebbe, Opposite the Uganda Wild life Centre, on Easter Sunday. The family show kicks off at 2:00pm. Entrance is sh5, 000 adults and sh3, 000 children.

Gospel
The Africa Harvest Mission transformation night of prayer will take place at Nakivubo Stadium tonight. Great men of God like Pastor Steven Sebyala and the Apostle Alex Mitala will preach. Popular gospel artistes like Jackie Ssennyonjo will also perform.

Glory of Christ Church
will stage their play, Sitaani Mu Kkanzu (the golden devil) at Glory of Christ Church in Kawaala on Easter Sunday, starting at 2:00pm. Entry is sh5,000.

Adventist choirs at Rest Gardens. Solomon’s choir and other Adventist choral groups will stage a concert at Rest Gardens, Bweyogerere on Easter Sunday, starting at 2:00pm. Entry fee is sh4,000.

The drama team of Makerere Full Gospel Church will stage their play, Ekyakookolima on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. Entry is free.

The Chosen Harvesters will launch their musical album, Jangu Otutaase at Christianity Focus Centre, Mengo Kisenyi on Easter Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. Don’t miss artistes like Phoebe Ashaba, Jackie Ssennyonjo and the UCC worship team. Entry is sh20,000 and sh5,000.

Sarah Mbabazi will launch her gospel musical album, Mutukuvu at Makerere Adventist Centre on Easter Sunday, starting at 12:00pm. Entry is sh10,000, sh5,000 and sh2,000.

Cachemcho in Easter concert
The Catholic Centenary Memorial choir will stage its Easter concert at Christ the King Church’s Cardinal Wamala Hall on Sunday, starting at 3:00pm. Entry is free.

Theatre
Akandolindoli Buffet at Bat Valley Theatre
The Easter season, there is all the agony associated with death and the cheerfulness associated with resurrection. One production that reflects this best is the Spotlight/Amarula Family comedy production at Bat Valley ending today.

The Ebonies are at Theatre La Bonita with their drama, Holy Devil Wanchekecha, throughout the Easter weekend.

The Bakayimbira Dramactors are at Marvin Theatre, Nateete with their new drama, Kalibatanda over the Easter weekend. Entry is sh15,000.

Christopher Mukiibi and the Theatricals are at the National Theatre with their drama, Gusinze Ani, over the Easter weekend. Shows begin at 2:30pm and 7:00pm. Entry is sh10,000.

Omusito gwa Katemba n’ennyimba will take place at the Royal Theatre in Old Kampala over the weekend. It will feature artistes and actors like Kato Lubwama, Mariam Ndagire and the Diamond Ensemble. Shows begin at 2:30 and, 7:00pm. Entry is sh10,000.

The Amarula comedians have a show at Kiboga play ground on Easter Sunday, starting at 7:00pm. They will also stage another show at Miami Beach in Luzira on Easter Monday. Entry is sh5,000.

Williams’ Theatre, Masaka
There will be live performances of music, dance, drama and comedy over the Easter weekend.

Afri-talents are at Bat Valley Theatre throughout the Easter weekend. The shows start at 8:30am and 7:00pm.

The Ohrionz will stage a show of comedy at New Life Bar, Nakulabye on Easter Monday, starting at 7:00pm. Entry is sh3,000.
