What do you think about these glamour/theme parties?

THESE parties are meant for us party people to have a good time which in turn makes them worth organising. Whether it is the All-White Party, Avatar or the Silent Disco, it is all the same. What takes you there is to have fun which is important.

Well, I think the people behind these parties just want us to have fun but again, most of them are expensive which gets me thinking they want to make money from party people like us. Some organise them as a show off.
Musanje Louis, Break Dance Project, Uganda

These parties are organised to help us shake our bodies, spend some money and have fun. So, if you ask me whether they are important, I will tell you, most definitely.
DJ Passy, Spin Doctor

I do not think there is any theme party that is organised with a purpose other than having fun. At the Avatar party at Efendy’s, I did not see anyone give a speech apart from the paintings on the face we were getting free-of-charge. At Zari’s All White party, all I could see was nice girls dressed in white.

Some theme parties are organised just to get together and have fun but a party like Bantu Nite has history attached to it. Bantu Nite was started in London to celebrate the African life in the diaspora. So, it is not just fun but business as well.
