I requested her to hide her beer under the table

EACH week, two lucky people get the chance to go on a blind date. This week, Alpha Mulagguusi, 25, went with Busulwa, 24, to Choma Restaurant at Centenary Park, Jinja Road.

WHEN I got to the restaurant, I spent about 10 minutes looking for him. When I failed to locate him, I asked for help from the reception. The waitress took me to his table.

He welcomed me and introduced himself. He was a nice and gentle guy and spoke well. We ordered drinks as we chatted.

Although I liked him, I think our of lifestyles are different. Whereas he is a gentle, humble and responsible person, I am different and would want a person with a ghetto character. I am an embarrassment to him. In fact, when the waitress brought my beer, he requested me to put it under the table, lest people saw him seated with a person taking alcohol.

However, we enjoyed the date, the food was nice and the waitresses were hospitable. After the date, I held his hands and bid him farewell. He has not called me since and I am wondering whether I should call him. But I intend to invite him for my music album launch soon.

When I discovered an opportunity to get a partner through Saturday Vision’s Mystery Date, I tendered in my request. I was surprised when they called me, saying they had arranged a date for me. Before I went to Choma Restaurant, I was told my date would find me there. However, when I arrived, I kept wondering how she would know I was the one.

As I waited, a waitress came with a lady and she introduced herself as my date. She was tall, honest and humourous. She told me she grew up in a ghetto, that she had a child and that she takes alcohol. I told her I would not mind her having a child because I also like children.

I informed her I was a down-to-earth man who could do anything, including house work. She told me she was a musician and would invite me to her music album launch. Although I liked her, I did not like the fact that she takes alcohol and when they brought the beer, I asked her to put it under the table. She obliged and our date went on well.
