ADRIAN Wasswa Ddungu was on Tuesday sworn in as the LC5 chairman.

Ddungu said Buvuma had lagged behind in development and vowed to convince President Yoweri Museveni for urgent assistance and special attention.

“The district is made up of 54 islands, which are sparsely located. We need to build boarding schools and health centres to improve the health of the islanders,” he said.

He asked the Government to avail fishermen with fishing gear on a loan, to fight illegal fishing. Ddungu was sworn-in together with 14 district councillors at Kitamiiro Community Hall.
