NDEJJE University handed Sport-S their third defeat in the league at MUBS grounds on Saturday to further put the former champions title hopes this year in jeopardy.
Ndejje, who won 3-2, punished a disorganised Sport-S side that had players arriving for the game way into the first set, which the university side won.
Sport-S’ introduction of Emma Kato changed the tide and he inspired his team to level 1-1, but stubborn Ndejje won the third set. Sport-S won the fourth to draw a tie-break which Ndejje won 16-14.
“Our block was our strongest tool, we are happy to beat Sport-S,†said coach Adam Sematiko.
Sport-S captain Warren Muhangi warned that his side cannot afford to lose any other game this year if they want to make it to the playoffs comfortably.
