Results from samples tested on Tuesday confirmed 18 new COVID-19 cases, according to the ministry of Health.
This takes the total number of confirmed cases to 507.
In a tweet, the ministry said four cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu while two cases were registered at Malaba.
"12 cases are alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases," the ministry added.
"Of the 12 cases from contacts and alerts; 8 are from Amuru, 3 are from Buikwe and 1 is from Kyotera districts," the ministry said.
Additionally, 21 positive foreign truck drivers (13 Kenyans, 3 Tanzanians,4 Eritreans and 1 Congolese)were handed to their countries of origin.
Uganda has not registered any death related to COVID-19, with the total recoveries standing at 82.
