SBI, the firm that is constructing the Kabale-Kisoro and Kampala-Mbarara roads, will this month handover two sections of the two projects, which it has completed.
Shay Cameo, the managing director, said they will handover a 34km stretch on the Kabale-Kisoro highway to the Government mid-this month.
The sections are the Nyakabande-Cyanika and the Kisoro town-Bunagana roads.
Cameo yesterday said the remaining 18km, which start from Kalengyere to Kisoro town, would be handed over in December.
The first 50km-section of the road was handed over to the Government last year.
Henry Banyenzanki, the Rubanda West MP and economic monitoring minister designate, said the road had sparked off expansion of the tourism sector in the area and general development.
The Kabale-Kisoro road project will cost over sh150b. Cameo said the firm would also handover a second section of the Masaka-Mbarara road, which has cost the Government 80m euros.
