Uganda's university education is set to take a new turn, with universities being advised by the government to start running online courses, and, or conduct some of their lectures online.

This means a university may completely be online or may use blended teaching; which is a mix of face-to-face session and online teaching.

The state minister for higher education Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo, says the Government, through the National Council for Higher Education, has also set new guidelines for all universities to ensure online teaching is conducted effectively.

The new guidelines, the Executive Director for NCHE Prof. Mary Okwakol, says will be released to the universities, once the lockdown has been lifted.

The Guidelines, are supposed to be adhered to by all universities in the country; which will be conducting Open, Distance, and eLearning (ODeL).
