FORMER Uganda Super League champions Bunamwaya have shifted their focus to the CECAFA club championships due in Tanzania June 21 - July 5.

The 2010 champions go into residential training at Frank Suites in Kajjansi to achieve what club secretary Haruna Kyobe described as two weeks of total concentration.

It will be the first international competition Bunamwaya is taking part in thus the need for the residential training.

“They need to focus on the championship because the majority of our players have not taken part in international competitions. We need them to concentrate,” Kyobe said.

Organisers of the regional event have moved it back to Tanzania following the unrest in Sudan, who had hosting rights after Zanzibar failed to meet CECAFA standards.

The championship is bankrolled by Rwanda President Paul Kagame at $60,000 (Sh144m) in prize money.
