UGANDAN boxer Jackson “Action†Asiku is back in the ring for a world title challenge fight against Choi Tseveenpurev from Mongolia on June 18 in London.
Asiku is challenging for the WBU featherweight title in an event at York Hall. This will mark his first appearance in the ring since the devastating loss on September 16 last year when the Ugandan lost his IBO title to Mexican Jhonny Gonzalez.
The fight on schedule is a tough one, according to his UK based manager Danny Lutaaya who referred to it as a landmark for both fighters because they almost have the same experience.
Asiku has 26 accomplished wins with 14 KO’s and four losses in his career while Choi the “Mongolian Warrior†has 31 fights having won 28 (20 KO’s ) and four losses.
Lutaaya said Asiku is upbeat at his Adelaide camp in Australia and will soon be in London for more preparations.
He has had pleasant achievements in the boxing circles having won the Commonwealth featherweight title and the Australian title in 2007 before going on to capture one other big world title in the same year.
He won the vacant IBF Australian featherweight title in April 2009 before capturing the vacant IBO in September the same year after stopping Heribarto Ruiz in the eighth round in Wales.
