MBARARA based Old Timers yesterday defeated rivals Nyamityobora FC 1-0 in the western mini league final at Ntare School grounds, to clinch the lone slot to the FUFA 2011/2012 Big League season.
A 28th minute goal by veteran Mohamed Byagota was enough to send the Old Timers to their first ever top flight football after years of trying but in vain.
Byagota slotted home when Nyamityobora goalkeeper Sadiq Waswa failed to deal with a cross.
