SINCE time immemorial, red lipstick has been the most stunning shade and probably the most used. The beauty of red lipstick is that it has been universally accepted to suit just about any occasion from formal, causal, elegant to funerals. The only difference is the amount applied.

To look your best with red lipstick and avoid “bleeding” your lips, here is what you do.

Dry your lips before applying the initial coat of lipstick. This will ensure that the lipstick lasts longer.

Apply lipstick to your lower lip. Press the lips together to spread the lipstick to your upper lip. When applying the lipstick, apply more of it on the centre of your lips than on the sides, to prevent it from smudging onto your face.

Apply a small amount of lip balm to keep your lips looking fresh. Stay away from heavy and shiny gloss, which exaggerates your lips while killing your look.

Apply a light layer of lip liner or pencil. It could be a red one, maroon or brown. Avoid black because it draws your lips out of your face.

Now don that red lipstick and step out looking like the stunner that you are!
