It may be accompanied by the urge to urinate more often. In women, the pain can be due to changes in the vaginal tissue during menopause (atrophic vaginitis).
It can also result from a herpes infection in the genital area and irritation of the vaginal tissue caused by a bubble bath. Have a doctor check you to diagnose the problem.
