Orombi launches peace and justice commission

THE Archbishop of the church of Uganda Henry Luke Orombi has inaugurated a peace and social justice commission that will monitor and promote good governance in society.

THE Archbishop of the church of Uganda Henry Luke Orombi has inaugurated a peace and social justice commission that will monitor and promote good governance in society.

Bishop Zac Niringiye is the chairperson of eh commission.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at All Saints church, Orombi said the commission would deliver people from desperate situations.

“Many citizens have in the past suffered and continued to suffer from all sorts of inhumane abuses as a result of armed conflicts, sexual and gender based violence and many other evil practices.

This commission is supposed to change their lives,” he said.

The commission is mandated with the promotion of peace and social justice within the church of Uganda as well the outside church especially on matters of advocacy.
