The Uganda handball federation members on Thursday agreed to remove their embattled chairperson Hajji Abbey Mubiru and replace him with former chairperson Sheila Angozibwa.

The body will be holding its elections July 30 at Lugogo in a move aimed at rejuvenating its activities.

Mubiru together with badminton head Wilson Tumwine banned from taking part in any Olympic event after failing to manage Uganda’s team to the New Delhi Commonwealth Games as per the regulations.

According to Hannington Musoke, the handball federation picked Agonzibwa after she resigned from baseball last year. She will pick up from where she stopped over eight years ago.

She had lifted the game and was working towards getting handball a field before she was voted out of office
