THUGS wielding a dagger yesterday raided local artiste Angela Kalule’s home and robbed her of laptops, cell phones and a vehicle worth sh38m.

The attack on the residence in Zzana, a city suburb, occured at about 4:30am, two hours after Kalule, popular for her new Katikitiki song, had returned home.

Kalule said she was asleep when a voice calling her name.

“When I opened my eyes, a man holding a flashlight with a bright beam, was standing next to my bed. He warned me against making noise. He told me that they had come to pick money and that I knew who had sent them,” Kalule narrated.

Fearing for her life, she surrendered the sh200,000 which was in the handbag. But the unsatisfied men locked her, two maids and sons in separate rooms before searching the house. They picked more cash and cellphones.

“They asked me for car keys and I handed them over. I thought they would kill me because they had a weapon,” Kalule stated.

Her manager, Ritah Jingo, said Kalule could have been a target because of her recent successful shows.

At about 11:00am yesterday, the vehicle, a blue Toyota Kruger (UAM 410D) was found dumped at Mubarak in Makindye, a suburb, according to Katwe Police crime chief Vincent Okurut. A hammer was found in the car.

Investigations are ongoing.
