Hanging with Rachel K

IT was a great day for Briton Musinguzi, a third year student of Business Administration at MUBS, when Lady Luck smiled at him long enough to meet singer, Rachel K, at her No End Studios in Kamwokya. He chatted with Duncan Kushaba about his experience with the rockstar.

Dude, it seems like you just won a lottery. What’s with the huge grin?
Man, this is unbelievable. I actually did not think I would meet Rachel K at all. She is one focused girl and I admire her a lot.

You admire her. As a girl or as an inspiration?
A little bit of both. For starters, she is smoking hot and she is bright. So, yes, I would love her to teach me a few things both personal and career-wise because I am an artiste too — a rapper.

Oh yeah? You mean you have music out there?
Well, not yet but working on it. I need to finish school first.
Did you tell Rachel about your rap ability?
Of course I did. As a matter of fact, she liked my flow when she asked me to show her what I could do. So, watch out for Rachel and I on the next track. Imagine a lethal rapper and a certified rockstar on the same track.

Wow, I am enjoying your swag. What did you think about her?
She is awesome. Absolutely crazy, but in a good way. I can’t believe she was so free with me that we were jumping up and down to her rock songs.

Man, that girl is real serious with this rock thing. The music she is about to release is threatening to the Kidandali security.

When she played the latest track she recorded in Sweden, I actually mistook her for American rock singer Pink. She was jumping all over and all of a sudden the virus caught me and I was flying as well. She treated me as her immediate cousin or something.

Dude, you just said you admire her as a girl, now you talking of ‘cousin’?
Don’t worry. I still stick to my first type of admiration. But think about it, what if option A does not work, you opt for cousins, right?
Tell us, what do you think of Rachel the person; forget the singer

I actually realised that her life revolves around rock music. So, the person is pretty much as awesome as the rock singer. I love both Rachels, absolutely. She is so free and friendly. I honestly think her boyfriend is a lucky chap.

I thought we were done with the love bit.
Yeah, me too but she is still in my head.
What exactly did you guys discuss?
She told me everything I wanted to hear. From her music to her family. She told me of her childhood in the US as well.

She is the kind of girl who is too honest for Ugandan boys. She told me about her high school days in California and her small town in Oklahoma where she was born and raised.

Any outstanding memories from this?
The day was all about memories. It is so hard to pick a single moment because the whole day was worth remembering. I actually feel like going back but since she gave me her music, I am going to my hostel, play it and pretend she is right there with me.

She must be your new crush, right?
You can say that again brother.
I can see you are having the moment of your life, but dude, you need to sign out, you are paralysing my business.

Hahahaha. You got into this yourself, it is your job so stop lamenting.
Anyway, I would like to say big thank you to Blitz. You guys made my year. To all fun loving swaggerific people, Blitz is your magazine.
