Brenda Nambi, the creative hand behind the Bambi Fashion label made it happen.

She turned her dream, the 2011 line dubbed Fashion Extreme into reality last Saturday evening at the Garden City roof top.

She showcased print designs that were unique, wild, and yet also carried an African element. Nambi’s 2011 line was strongly inspired by African prints.

Nambi played around with various fabrics from African print, siffon to create new and fresh ready-to-wear, exclusive and haute contoure outfits.

Among the ready-to-wear out fits displayed on the runway that night were the coffee brown and pink floral print shorts, men’s green and black graphic print cargo pants and the lime yellow ladies’ cargo shorts.

Nambi noted that both the ladies’ and men’s floral shorts are ideal for the beach, especially for anyone who does not want to show off their legs. She also said the shorts could be worn casually.

Guests were blown away by wedding gowns and changing dresses made from versa and siffon fabrics.

The dress that scored highly among them all was the angelic maxi segment wedding gown.

The formal office outfits were also highly represented — from the ladies suits, men’s work trousers and shirts.

The ladies’ white versa pants and green flora skirt suit left a lasting impression.

Costumes like the little butterfly dress that was pieced out of the green flora African wax fabric and black versa fabric was also showcased.

With a history of only two showcases, Nambi, who is just three years into the business, is already creating an impact on Ugandan fashion.
