MOTORSPORT national governing body FMU has steered clear of controversy this time, opting to throw Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge at the deep end of the Eastern Challenge Rally this weekend.
With FMU basing on championship points to determine flag off positions, leader Muwonge takes off first ahead of 34 other crews in the race.
Having cried foul in the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally in which he was controversially placed ahead of the pack Ponsiano Lwakataka welcomed the provisional start-list released yesterday.
“That’s where I am supposed to be. I will certainly be much faster because Susan will clear the way for me. I am ready for the cockpit,†Lwakataka stated.
Edson Munghereza (Subaru N8), Wycliff Bukenya (Mitsubishi) and Ahmed Ashraf (Subaru N6) will take off third, fourth and fifth respectively while national champion Nasser Mutebi (Subaru N8) will be sixth.
