THE Police in Malaba have arrested a Kenyan national suspected to be involved in exhuming dead bodies and taking them to Kenya.

THE Police in Malaba have arrested a Kenyan national suspected to be involved in exhuming dead bodies and taking them to Kenya.
Michael Osa, 36, a resident of Jairos village, Teso North district in Kenya, was on Sunday night arrested at the home of the late Aloysius Onyanga.
Onyanga had reportedly been buried a day before.
Malaba criminal investigation chief Sabila said Osa was arrested by the family members in the graveyard at 9:00pm. He was reportedly attempting to exhume the body.
Gerald Elungat, a family member, told the Police that Osa was probably interested in the golden casket in which Onyanga, 78, was buried.
Onyanga was a renowned long-serving head teacher. He was also the first Resistance Council 3 chairperson of the then Kwapa sub-county and the former minister of culture in the Iteso Cultural Union.
He died of diabetes and high blood pressure on Tuesday at his home after a long illness.
Elungat said on interrogation, Osa confessed that he had been hired to exhume the body to remove the casket which was on high demand in Kenya. Osa reportedly added that he had been monitoring the burial process by frequenting the home at night since Onyanga died.
Cases of suspected bodies being exhumed are on the increase in the area. This has reportedly prompted most bereaved family members to until when the grave dries up.
Sabila said Osa would be charged with criminal trespass.
