Never mind the delayed kick-off, last Thursday evening was one of those fashion nights the ordinary consumer and shopper of clothes, specifically the ladies, would relate with. It was not one of those nights where a designer showcases some extremely creative wear that unfortunately cannot be worn by the ordinary folks on the street.

The fashion houses showcasing were Tru Blend, Luzira-based Vaile’s and Passa Passie, based on Sir Apollo Kagwa Road. The showcase had inviting dresses that revellers just wanted to pick from the catwalk immediately and wear for their next date or dinner.

Quite revealing these dresses turned out to be, but they maintained a decent level of mystery to keep viewers wondering what lay beneath without being disgusted by the over exposure some really short dresses are known for. The show had interludes from performers, who included Sheba Karungi, whose erotic dancing and suggestive songs caught the crowd’s attention. Other performances were from Oscar Muwonge of the Nsota Bicycle fame. The night turned out interesting.

Former Chilli Girls group members Peace Tyra and Sheila Uzamukunda, under their new group name the Divas, also performed, ending the evening of fashion dominated by a great showcase of short dresses.
