25 expelled from Rukungiri school
Twenty-five students of Nyakinoni Secondary School in Kinkiizi, Rukungiri district have been expelled for engaging in a violent strike in which school property was destroyed last month. The acting head teacher, Aaron Manyire, said those expelled would only be allowed back into the school to do their Uganda Certificate of Education final examinations. He added that the students would also have to be accompanied by their parents daily. The strike started after students run wild and shuttered window panes at the school after they were allegedly served little food.
