KAMPALA - An evening that had started with a lot of speculation ended in an emotionally fuelled mix of results.

The talk that preceded the Moses Golola fight with Hungarian Andras Naggy was thrown into controversy with the judges, the referee and the Master of Ceremonies announcing the fighters winners.

The vacant World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) Inter-Continental title fight that attracted global interest had the Master of Ceremonies Pastor Roger Mugisha announce a unanimous referees’ decision in favour of the Ugandan.

But it was quickly reversed by the referee, who gave the win to Nagy with the same points sparking off a protest from Golola’s technical team and fans.

Golola’s technical bench stormed the ring demanding that the match judges from Sudan and Kenya announce the result again. The three judges had given the winner 49-46 unanimous decision.

“It should be the judges and not the referee to announce results. That was wrong decision,” Golola’s technical team shouted.

One of the Kenyan judges over ruled the referee, who doubles as the president of World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) president and chief executive officer Fritz Exenberger and gave the win again to Golola.

At the end, Uganda's Golola was declared the winner.

Exenberger, had to be escorted out of the venue by top government security officials.
