Conspiracy: What's with the No.11?

CONSPIRACY theories abound this day – I mean today. It being the 11th day of the 11th month in the 2011th year, the world over awaits something – anything bordering more on the side of “creepy” than “spectacular.”

At least that is what conspiracy buffs have made us believe. Astronomically, this is the very first time that a day, month and year align themselves in an 11-11-11 format and will never ever happen again until after 1,000 years.

So it is upon the day’s rarity that the world has come up with all sorts of interpretations and theories, some bordering on religion and others the occult world. On the religious end, Jesus Christ is so linked to the number 11.

Dr. Ernest L. Martin, author of a 1981 book titled The Birth of Christ Recalculated, claims to have calculated the exact date of Jesus Christ’s birth to September 11, 3 B.C., based on the celestial charts of that era.

Also, September 11, 1999, was the 6,000th anniversary of Adam’s creation, according to Hebrew Scriptures. And with the name Jesus Christ having 11 letters, more mystery around today abounds, but with no specific attachment to what the day will bring. Plus, the book of revelations deciphers these numbers. You might want to check out verses 101, 1001, 1010. 1011, 1101, 1110 and 1111.

Also, self-proclaimed psychic Uri Geller says he has experienced bizarre 11:11 occurrences. He claims he would stand with his back to a digital clock, only to turn around and the time is 11:11. “Then I would be checked into hotel rooms on Floor 11, Room 1111. I started noticing these digits on computers, microwave ovens, cars, documents, to menttion but a few. I decided to write about it on my website urigeller.com.

“I was immediately inundated by hundreds of emails from all around the world. Individuals were telling me their own 11:11 stories, most of them saying they thought it happened only to them. It is difficult for me to decipher what this is all about, but my intuition tells me it’s positive. When I see the number 1111, I pray for sick children and world peace. The prayer takes a moment but it’s very powerful,” Uri says on his website.

“I believe that people who have constant contact with the 11 phenomena have some type of a positive mission to accomplish. For me, 11 awakens my power of prayer. It might awaken other powers in other people,” he adds, Sure it does – like in the case of Hollywood film director Darren Lynn Bousman, that guy who brought us those creepy horror movies – Saw II, III and IV, in which people get sawed in half here and there.

For him, 11 awakens powers of the occult. In fact, Bousman today releases his horror movie entitled 11-11-11, to coincide with this day, which has attracted 11:11-themed parties, especially in the Western World.

The movie’s tagline is creepy itself. It reads: “Mark the date; you can’t stop what’s coming!” So what’s coming? According to scientist Stephen Hawking, the world comes to an end today. He claims to have decoded the Mayan calendar again and found that the world ends on 11-11-11 and not December 21, 2012, as popular theories have had it.

The occurrence of something this strange is almost what Bousman’s movie 11-11-11 seems to say. The movie chronicles the story of American author Joseph Crone (Timothy Gibbs), who travels to Spain to spend time with his dying father after the death of his own wife and child. In Spain, Crone is plagued by strange occurrences and the persistent appearance of the number 11:11.

It eventually becomes clear to Crone that the number refers to a mystical date when forces will converge and Heaven’s 11th gate will open, with him a piece in the puzzle that could affect humanity and religion itself.

That is the movie. But there is more to the Number 11, some of it positive but the majority negative, especially since it has been given face by the September 11, 2001 bombings of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York. September 11 is 9-11. 9+1+1=11. After September 11th, there were 111 days left to the end of the year.

The New York City emergency is 911. The hit twin towers themselves stood side by side, looking like the number 11. The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11 by American Airlines (AA). “A” being the first letter in the alphabet, we have AA represented by 11. That flight had two pilots and nine attendants, making the crew 11.

Mohamed Atta, the pilot that crashed into the World Trade Centre; Paul Tibbets, the pilot of plane that bombed Hiroshima with an atomic bomb and Ramzi Yousef, who orchestrated the attack on the World Trade Centre, all have their names’ letters adding up to 11.
 
The State of New York, which was bombed, was the 11th state added to the union of USA. The ground breaking for the construction of the Pentagon began September 11th, 1941. The two crosses found standing in the ruins of the WTC formed 11. Basically, the dominance of the number 11 in the 9-11 events makes the combination even more mysterious.

Is this number 11 really a phenomenon, or it is just our internal body clocks playing tricks on us?
