Agago District chairman arrested by IGG

The embattled Agago LC5 chairman Peter Odok Wod Oceng is expected to appear on Wednesday before the anti-corruption court in Kampala, following his arrest and detention at the Central Police Station.

 The embattled Agago LC5 chairman Peter Odok Wod Oceng is expected to appear on Wednesday before the anti-corruption court in Kampala, following his arrest and detention at the Central Police Station.

 Odok was arrested by the office of the Inspector General of Government, which accuses him of causing financial loss to the government, uttering o false statements and abuse of office.

 The IGG spokesperson Ali Munira did not give details but said Odok will be paraded before the anti-corruption court.
 
A source close to the IGG said Odok is accused of inflating garage bills amounting to over sh400m, while still chairman of Pader district.
 
 Odok was in August expelled from the Agago parliamentary seat after a petition over his age.
 
Meanwhile, the official vehicle of Odok, which he had clung to despite being asked to leave office, has been handed over to the CAO of Agago.
