THE body of Prince John Patrick Barigye of Ankore kingdom has this evening been laid to rest at the kingdom royal tombs in Nkokonjeru Mbarara municipality.
Only a few people including the clergy, royal family members and members of Ankore culture trust were given access to the burial grounds.
During the final requiem service at St. James Cathedral in Ruharo, Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) MP Gen. Elly Tumwine urged those agitating for the restoration of Ankore kingdom to emulate the late prince and use peaceful means.
In his eulogy, the Ankore kingdom Prime Minister William Katatumba urged the Banyankore as a tribe to put aside their differences and fight for the reinstatement of Ankore kingdom.
The children to the late prince asked government to give back the kingdom regalia being kept at the Uganda museum, saying that its hard for many of them to merely learn about the regalia in school and have no access to it.
