Duncan Mugabe needed 45 minutes to down Rwanda’s Anatole Bizimana on day two of the All Africa Game tennis action that is taking place at Jardim Tunduro sports complex here in Maputo, Mozambique.
Robert Buyinza had on Sunday evening also won his game against Ghana’s Pascal Ziab to advance to Round four of the action. He recovered from a set down 2-6, to duce the second set before winning 7-6(2) and then took the final set 10-8.
Mugabe, who survived a walk over due to the complicated transport system, calling him to the court just four minutes after arriving at the venue, settled in fast and started proceeding in a game that he dominated with a 6-1, 6-0 results.
“It was a good start for them. What they wanted is to have a winning start,†said Coach John Oduke. They now qualify for the round of 32, whose action will take place in the evening.
Mugabe will be meeting the winner between Angola’s Dodamy Santos and Algeria’s Sid Ali Akir, who were due to play in the afternoon.
