Seven of the nine Uganda Super League (USL) clubs the national soccer body, FUFA summoned to explain why they took part in league the national federation suspended failed to turn up.

Only URA and Fire master FCs showed up for grilling at Mengo on Tuesday while Express FC presented a letter whose content FUFA has kept secret.

Neither URA FC, nor Fire masters revealed the details of their discussion but URA chairman Ali Ssekatawa is optimistic that FUFA would listen to their reasons to take part in the league.

URA opened the suspended USL games with a draw 1-1 against Express in live television match at Namboole on Friday.

Prior to the match, Ssekatawa said that they would honour their matches because the fight between FUFA and USLL did not concern the clubs.

Ssekatawa has pleaded with FUFA not punish clubs that defied their order against the league.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulinwda and his team have insisted that any clubs and individuals who have taken part in the league will face disciplinary actions.

National Council of Sports is due to mediate between the two parties on request of USL at Lugogo on Wednesday.

USL has vowed to continue the games on when URA plays Fire masters in another televised match at Wankulukuku.
