UGANDA'S coffee exports are projected to rise by 47% to 250,000 60-kilogramme bags this month compared with 169,728 bags a year ago, a source at the Uganda Coffee Development Authority said yesterday.

“This is the last season of this coffee year, and normally traders sell larger volumes of stocks because they are clearing their warehouses for the next crop. So, we think exports will rise greatly this September.

We are looking at about 250,000 bags,” the source said. Uganda exported 309,303 60-kilogramme bags of coffee last month.
