EX-professional Stephen Kasaija’s group could be disqualified from the Uganda Golf Open for turning up late for tee off on the second day of the tournament.

EX-professional Stephen Kasaija’s group could be disqualified from the Uganda Golf Open for turning up late for tee off on the second day of the tournament.

Kasaija, John Waigo and Peter Tapi who were scheduled to tee off at 7:46am showed up at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club course about an hour late.

The penalty for being late includes disqualification from the competition.

Len Ogembo, a tournament official explained that the case would be discussed by a committee and a decision will be taken today in accordance with the rules.

“The Starter noted that they were late and will report to the committee which will assess how late they were and consider the circumstances that caused it,” Ogembo said. The group went to play pending the committee's decision.
