FUFA has sought divine intervention in a bid to propel Cranes to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The sport’s local governing body has requested worshippers across the country to consider September 30, October 1st and 2nd as days for special prayers.

Muslims will opt for September 30 while Seventh-day Adventists will pray for the team the following day. Anglicans, the Roman Catholics and the Pentecostal churches will hold prayers on October 2.

“FUFA believes in this Godly strategy. All heads of the different religious sects will include the Cranes in their prayers,” Mulindwa said.

Kenya travel by road

Kenya’s Harambee stars will travel by road to Kampala from Mumias, according to a communication from the Kenya football association.

The stars will arrive at the border in the early morning hours of October 7 (Friday) and will be expected in Kampala in the afternoon.

“We will receive them at the border post of Malaba and have already contacted the Uganda Police to help with security.” Mulindwa added.

Meanwhile, it emerged yesterday that the Botswana Football Association (BFA) was not aware of any international friendly against Kenya.
Cranes need to win to qualify for the finals.
