Comedians compose joint Coronavirus awareness song

Unlike many other songs released earlier, this particular song is one that tickles listeners into laughter

As the Coronavirus sweeps across the world, fear has undoubtedly crept into the citizens of Uganda where 52 cases have so far been detected.

This has prompted various artistes to compose songs aimed at sensitising the public about how to stop the spread of the pandemic and heartening the public to keep up the fight.

Towards the end of last month, songs like Coronavirus Alert by Bobi Wine and Corona Distance by Bebe Cool set the pace, and what followed thereafter was a spree of Coronavirus songs, many of which have received severe battering from the fans on social media.

In the same spirit, a collection of Uganda's A-list comedians, under their umbrella association, The Uganda Comedians Association (TUCA), hit producer Artin's studio to record a joint Coronavirus song titled, We Say No to Corona.

The song features comedians like Patriko Mujuuka, Hannington Bujingo, Richard Tuwangye, Alex Muhangi, Godi Godi, Reign and Agnes Akite among others.

Of course, a number of them sounded more like comedians than musicians, but all this will be delved into when the situation returns to normalcy. For now, the country needs each and every comforting message.

Unlike many other songs released earlier, this particular song is one that tickles listeners into laughter. As comedians, they decided to turn the situation into one that can be laughed about, but still stay conscious of the set measures and guidelines.

At this rate, we could, probably, get a song from traditional healers and truck drivers among others. Who knows? Anything is possible now.

Many are realising just now that, for a long time, they have been unrivalled musicians.
