Ugandan professional golfers had a relatively good start as the last leg of the Safari Tour teed off at Karen Golf Club on Sunday.

All the eight Ugandans remained on course to partake of the sh108m prize money after making the first day’s cut that had three golfers fall off.

Three Ugandans-Denis Anguyo, Willy Kitata, and Deo Akope are all tied in fourth place having returned two-over 73 in the opening round.

Becca Mwanja, Brian Toolit, Abbey Bagalana, Phillip Kasozi and Ronald Rugumayo are 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 strokes off leaders Kenya’s Greg Snow and Malawi’s Paul Chidale
who shared top spot having returned, 69 each.

The leaders are followed by the duo of Zimbabwean Madalitso Muthiya and Rwandese, Aloys Nsabimana, who finished round-one with rounds of 70; to end the day tied in third.
