Bishops get vehicles from President

In January 2019, Bishop Kisitu along with His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga and other representatives of the Orthodox Church paid a visit to the President at State House Entebbe.

STATE HOUSE, KAMPALA: President Yoweri Museveni has fulfilled his pledge of providing tranUsport to the clergy in a ceremony held at State House Entebbe.

Ms. Jean Kabainkya, the Assistant Secretary in the transport office, handed over a brand new Mistubishi Pajero GLS to the Uganda Orthodox Church Bishop of Gulu and Eastern Silvester Kisitu.

  

In January 2019, Bishop Kisitu along with His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga and other representatives of the Orthodox Church paid a visit to the President at State House Entebbe.

The President pledged to support his spiritual work and urged him to always sensitize followers on poverty eradication in their homes. He said empowered followers can  support the work of the church.

At the same event, Ms. Kabainkya also handed over a brand new Mistubishi Pajero to the Bishop of Kapchorwa Diocese Rt. Rev. Paul Kiptoo Masaba.

Rev. Masaba was consecrated and enthroned as the second Bishop of Sebei Diocese at a colourful service in Kapchorwa on April 12, 2015.

The President said the vehicles will support the clergy as they move among the faithful to preach the word. He urged them to always call upon the people to fight poverty in their homes.
