Makerere University relocates staff

“The university has relocated them to different places temporarily. As we are planning to construct a three-acre facility for the school of Public Health,” Kiggundu noted.

KAMPALA - Several buildings including staff quarters at Makerere University have been demolished for the construction of the proposed Public Health building within the university premises.

According to Dr. Muhammad Kiggundu, Manager Communication and International Relations, security personnel are among the staff who have been relocated. However, he noted that the number of people relocated is not yet clear.

 

"The university has relocated them to different places temporarily. As we are planning to construct a three-acre facility for the school of Public Health," Kiggundu noted.

He added that the building will comprise of well-equipped laboratory, library, conference hall, internet café and so much more.

The entire construction will cost over sh30b.
