What happened?
January 22 will forever remain etched on the minds of the family and friends of fallen singer Mowzey. This is the day his alleged attacker hit him, leaving him for dead, before he was moved to Nsambya Hospital and later transferred to Case Hospital.

A day after the attack on Mowzey, his friend Pamela Musiimire, the woman said to have witnessed the exchange at De Bar, told New Vision what happened.

Before narrating what transpired, Musiimire quashed rumours that were making rounds on social media and other media outlets, that she was a girlfriend to the now dead singer.

During a press brief at Kasenyi, Katabi town council in Wakiso district, Musiimire, who, said she was a friend to Mowzey for a long time, also revealed that she had just been recruited as a security personnel at De Bar.

"I have known Mowzey for quite a long time ever since I helped him settle some saga he had run into while in Entebbe. Since then, he refers to me as his sister. Even if you check his phone contacts, he saved my number as Sister Entebbe," Musiimire revealed.

Musiimire said Mowzey was like a brother. We would usually chat whenever he was in Entebbe. He is way younger for me, but because he is a celebrity, people always find a way of mixing in the relationship part," she said.

On the fracas that landed the singer into coma, Musiimire said: "Mowzey came to the bar after inspecting a house he was constructing at Akright Estate in Bwebajja on Entebbe Road.

He was in the company of producer Washington and a one Frank. Later, Egesa (the manager) and Muwonge (the supervisor), joined us and everyone was having fun."

Musiimire further revealed that Egesa ordered a waitress to get a bottle of Jonny Walker Black Label whisky for Mowzey, who at the time had become a bit rowdy.

"However, Mowzey just splashed the whisky around. This annoyed Egesa who in turn pushed away the table with the drinks before he stood up in rage."

"Producer Washington stood up and grabbed Egesa, thinking they were going to fight. I got hold of Mowzey to lead him out of the bar. However, as we were getting out, an unidentified guy wearing a white T-shirt with a blue pair of shorts, came out of nowhere, lifted Mowzey up and threw him to the ground," Musiimire said.

Musiimire said they rushed Mowzey to Emmanuel Hospital in Katabi on Entebbe Road, which referred him to Nsambya Hospital and was later was transferred to Case Hospital, where he died yesterday morning.

Musiimire, however, maintained that she did not know the name of the man who beat up Mowzey.

She also said the second suspect (Rukere) being held by the Police was not involved in the brawl, saying  he just looked on as events unfolded.
