The disparities that had emerged between the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) Executive and the electoral commission (EC) have been harmonised ahead of elections on Saturday.

The clubs have hence-forth been directed to update their membership registers with the federation secretary.

A row had erupted following the EC's Bulletin 005 that threw out delegates from six clubs that included Southern Motorsport Club, UMOSPOC, and Vintage, Uganda Motocross club, Mbarara, Eastern Motorsport Club and some members of Uganda Motorsport Marshals Association.

The bulletin had also affected the candidature of Dipu Ruparelia Geofrey Nsamba, Kees Kagolo and Leon Ssenyange who are contesting the post of president and vice president respectively.

"We have harmonised the situation and agreed that the elections go on as scheduled. Club presidents should update their membership registers and we file them to the Federation Secretary," FMU president Dusman Okee noted.

"We also agreed that each club sends the updated list of five delegates instead of the six as had been put in the bulletin by the electoral commission," Okee explained.

Electoral committee chairman Fred Obbo said they had the issues of the executive and they are going to come up with the final list of delegates before Saturday.

"Members have raised their concerns and we going to address them and come up with the final updated register tomorrow morning (Friday)," Obbo said.
